About the Role

Cares for elderly, disabled, convalescent or handicapped at an individual's home or day-time residence.


General Accountabilities

  • Assist with daily activities at an individual's home.

  • Performs tasks including but not limited to making beds, doing laundry, preparing meals, washing dishes, cleaning, bathing, dressing, etc.

  • Purchase grocery items, as needed for individuals.

  • Helps patients up and down stairs, in and out of bed, etc.

  • Medication reminders

  • Administers oral medication written under doctor prescription.

  • Accompanies ambulatory patients outside of home. (doctors visits/errands)

  • Entertains patients by reading, talking, listening to individuals, upon request.

  • Visits several households to provide similar daily care.

  • Educated family about the status/health of individuals being cared for.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED

  • Completion of CNA training program with certification in good standing.

  • Experience: at least 1 year of related experience
